Diablo Cody

Okay, I love her! After seeing her fabulous red shoes at TIFF, I was sold. This pic doesn't show her fab shoes (I cut off her feet!), but trust me, they were a beautiful orange-red colour, and looked fantastic with her dress.

So, Congratulations to Diablo on her Oscar win for best original screenplay. Not so keen on her Oscar dress last night. It was a modern-day Wilma Flintstone, but it suited her quirky style really well.

Kudos to Diablo for sticking to her indie roots. She was chosen to wear the Stuart Weitzman million-dollar shoes for Oscar night, but declined because she felt she was just being used to promote the brand.

Will she be forever known as the stripper who won an Oscar. I hope not because it is really her writing talent that got her to where she is today. On that note though, you must read Candy Girl. It is a riot.

BTW, this leopard print isn't a new thing. I was looking at pics of Diablo over the last few months, and the leopard seems to be a recurring theme.

162cm so far this winter...and counting...

With another wallop expected on Friday and Sunday, the GTA could be in for a record snow year. I am tired of it, and wish I could escape to New Zealand like I did at this time last year. Instead, I am going to the 7th coldest world capital - Ottawa. Talk about crazy. The things we do to see friends! It will, however, be worth it in the end.

another 20cm

When will it end????? When will the city of Toronto get its act together and start clearing the snow off the side streets. I can barely see over the snowbanks on my street. Enough is enough. Don't let this picture fool you. I haven't seen any of those snow removal trucks in the vicinity of my neighbourhood. In the downtown core, yes, but in any area north of Bloor St., no. Frustration.

-30 with the wind chill

What, am I living in Montreal again? I didn't think so. Please stop with the wind chill. I will take snow over these wind chills any day!

Can you sense my frustration with the weather? The inspiration for this blog came four February's ago. I can't believe I am celebrating my fourth anniversary with this blog. Like every February before it, this one is no different. Thaw and freeze; snow and rain; clear and sunny, blustery and dark. This will forever be a Southern Ontario February.

Gerry Drives a Lexus!

But he's not looking so hot these days. I guess we all go through our schlumpy phases.

snow snow and more snow

When will it end? Once again Toronto is under a blanket of snow. In fact, today breaks a record. The previous record was held by Feb 1, 1967, with an accumulation of only 8cm. We blew that one out of the water. Let's just say that we are expecting to get 15-30cm by the end of the day. Well, let's hope that the subways are running on time and that getting home runs smoothly.
